Dr. Kachare provides support and guidance throughout every phase of your treatment process, including recovery. After a neck lift, you are likely to experience mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness, symptoms that gradually subside in the coming weeks. For the first few days, you should sleep with your head elevated to help reduce swelling.
You will receive personalized aftercare instructions from Dr. Kachare and prescriptions for narcotic pain medications and antibiotics. You may be asked to wear a temporary compression garment, which can help keep your newly sculpted neck contours intact while your body heals.
Most patients find they can resume work and other light activities within several weeks. However, strenuous exercise and heavy lifting should be postponed for around 4 to 6 weeks. This gives your body the best chance at full recuperation. It may take around 6-8 weeks to see your final results, and some residual swelling will remain for up to six months. Dr. Kachare will see you for a series of follow-up visits to ensure you are recovering optimally.
